Truck Rental Agreement

Review your rental reservation in writing

Before paying for a truck or bus reservation, obtain the agreement that applies to your specific service. This page helps you prepare questions; the actual written reservation identifies the selected vehicle, appointment, charges, and responsibilities. Keep a copy of that agreement and your payment confirmation.

Provide the correct Texas DPS test location, appointment date and time, permit class, and any transmission or vehicle-configuration requirement. Ask whether the reservation includes a truck alone, a truck-and-trailer combination, or a passenger vehicle. Confirm that the vehicle choice fits the license you intend to obtain.

Confirm the service and total cost

Ask about the rental period, travel and fuel charges, any familiarization service, and any costs that may arise from a changed appointment. Review cancellation, rescheduling, and refund terms before committing. Do not assume an old price or testimonial describes your current quote.

Discuss insurance requirements, permitted use, damage responsibilities, and the documents you must provide. Ask how the rental team coordinates delivery or arrival at the test location. If a permit, medical record, or training requirement is unresolved, address it before confirming a test reservation.

Keep the appointment details together

Save your Texas DPS confirmation separately from the rental confirmation. Check that both show the correct date and location. Let the team know promptly if the agency changes your appointment or you become unable to attend.

Prepare a short checklist for your identification, permit, required records, arrival instructions, and provider contact information. Review it before travel. A completed reservation provides the agreed service; the state examiner independently determines whether you meet the testing requirements.
