Spanish-language reference for Texas CDL study
Texas DPS links to a Spanish-language commercial vehicle handbook that can help explain terminology and concepts. Check the publication date: the Spanish PDF linked here is an older reference. Compare its information with the current English handbook and the current application instructions before relying on a testing procedure.
Texas DPS states that CDL knowledge examinations are administered in English beginning June 1, 2026. Skills tests are also conducted in English. A Spanish study reference does not mean a Spanish examination is available.
Use translated material as a bridge
Read a topic in the language that helps you understand the concept, then review the corresponding English terminology. Practice recognizing signs, component names, examiner instructions, and the language used in official questions. Understanding the idea and recognizing the English wording are both useful study tasks.
When a translation or older recording differs from current agency guidance, use the current official source. Ask Texas DPS about language and licensing requirements for your application, and discuss any training needs with an appropriate provider.
Organize your next steps
Choose your license class and endorsements first. Use the practice-subject guide to organize study sessions, and keep application documents and appointment details in a separate checklist. Studying a reference does not replace any required training or licensing examination.
The preserved Spanish-language customer videos share individual experiences from earlier periods. They may help you prepare questions for the team, but their dates, circumstances, and results should not be treated as a description of today’s examination process.
